According to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), the “Bangkathon: La Union’s Fishing Boat Marathon” was held on May 14, 2026, in Barangay Quirino, Bacnotan. The event, organized by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, featured boat racing and boat decoration contests to promote coastal awareness and community unity among local farmers and fisherfolk.
