According to PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is bringing light to heavy rains across several provinces in Northern Luzon on June 4, 2026. The state weather bureau issued a rainfall advisory at 5:00 AM warning of moderate to rough coastal conditions and potential flash floods or landslides in mountainous areas. This weather system is currently affecting multiple regions, prompting disaster risk offices to monitor the situation closely.

In La Union, the rainfall advisory specifically highlights Pugo as an area expecting incoming rains within the next two to three hours. Meanwhile, ongoing rains are already being experienced in the City of San Fernando, San Juan, Bauang, Agoo, Bacnotan, Balaoan, Naguilian, and Rosario. Local disaster risk reduction and management offices in these municipalities are actively monitoring the weather to ensure public safety.

PAGASA warned that the persistent rains could trigger landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods, particularly for residents living along mountain slopes. Coastal waters in Northern Luzon are also experiencing moderate to rough conditions, with southwest winds blowing at moderate to strong speeds.

According to the extended weather outlook from PAGASA, these monsoon conditions are projected to persist through the weekend. From Thursday, June 4, until Sunday, June 7, temperatures in the region will range from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius, accompanied by moderate to strong southwest to southeast winds. The weather bureau advises the public to take necessary precautions and monitor the next official update.
