According to PAGASA in its advisory issued at 5:00 AM on June 5, 2026, the Southwest Monsoon is bringing light to heavy rains across several provinces in Northern Luzon. The weather bureau warned that these persistent rains, accompanied by moderate to strong southwest winds, are expected to cause moderate to rough coastal conditions.

In La Union, communities are currently experiencing these continuous rains, which are projected to persist and affect nearby areas. Local disaster risk reduction and management offices in the province are actively monitoring the weather conditions to coordinate safety responses.

Neighboring areas in the Ilocos Region, including Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, and Pangasinan, are also experiencing similar weather conditions. PAGASA advised residents living near mountain slopes to take immediate precautions against landslides, mudslides, and rockslides, while those in low-lying areas must watch out for flash floods.

The weather bureau’s extended outlook shows that the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring moderate to strong southwest winds and moderate to rough coastal waters through Monday, June 8, 2026. Temperatures across the region are forecast to hover between 24°C and 32°C.
