According to the PIA and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the government is launching a nationwide public consultation roadshow in February 2026 to explain the allocation of the P6.793 trillion national budget. The initiative, called “Usapang Budget Natin,” aims to educate citizens on how public funds are distributed across key sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture through interactive forums and direct discussions with national officials.

The Luzon leg of the roadshow will take place on February 13, 2026, at the Bacnotan Public Market in La Union. Coordinated with the Provincial Government of La Union and the Municipality of Bacnotan, the event is expected to draw at least 300 local participants, including sectoral leaders and residents.

The 2026 national budget prioritizes several key sectors. Education receives the largest share at P1.345 trillion to build classrooms and hire teachers, while healthcare is allocated P448.125 billion to fund universal health services, free hospital billing, and medical staff. Agriculture receives P297.102 billion to improve food supply chains, and social services gets P270.189 billion to fund community welfare programs.

Local government units will receive development funding through the Local Government Support Fund to finance projects in individual neighborhoods or barangays. Additionally, the budget funds salary increases and higher allowances for military and police personnel under Executive Order No. 107, while unplanned spending items were removed to ensure strict accountability.

Cabinet officials will attend the forums to answer questions directly from the public and showcase government services at interactive booths. Similar roadshows are scheduled in South Cotabato on February 10 and Cebu on February 20.
