According to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), Thousands of kilos of cabbage were donated to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on May 13, 2026. The donation, totaling 5,000 kilos, came from Mr. Roland Gundran of Alyhar Marketing.

The PGLU will distribute the cabbage to various social service facilities. These include district hospitals, the Provincial Jail, Bahay Pag-asa, the Home for the Elderly, the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) in Bauang, and the Home for Girls in Agoo.

This donation is expected to provide nutritional benefits to the beneficiaries. It will also help augment the operational expenses of these facilities.

Mr. Gundran explained that the cabbage came from farmers affected by low market prices, which reduced their income. This initiative serves as a solution to support both the farmers and the social service facilities.

The PGLU stated it will continue to collaborate on food security and support the agricultural sector. The goal is to alleviate issues of oversupply and prevent crop wastage among farmers in La Union.
