Fuel Aid Program Goes Nationwide April 6
Government expands fuel subsidy to transport sector nationwide to combat rising oil prices.

Fuel subsidy program expansion
According to PNA and Malacañang, the government will expand its fuel subsidy program for the transport sector nationwide starting April 6. This initiative aims to cushion the impact of rising oil prices, which are being exacerbated by tensions in the Middle East.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that the Marcos administration is employing a comprehensive, nationwide approach to alleviate the financial strain on commuters, drivers, and other affected individuals. Nearly 100,000 tricycle drivers have already received fuel subsidies as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The administration is also closely monitoring the prices of basic goods, with the President assuring that commodity prices remain stable and are being sold at their suggested retail prices. Castro added that the government is actively coordinating to keep prices low.
Efforts are also underway to secure additional oil supplies from partner countries and enhance energy capacity. This includes maximizing the output from the Malampaya gas field and bringing new power projects online.
The measures are part of broader efforts to ease the impact of rising fuel costs.
