Typhoon Domeng Moves North Northwest; Southwest Monsoon Brings Rains

Typhoon Domeng continues its north-northwest track, sparing Ilocos Region and La Union, while the Southwest Monsoon affects parts of Luzon and Visayas, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms.

According to PAGASA, as of 3:00 AM today June 01, 2026, Typhoon “DOMENG” {JANGMI} was located 650 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, moving North Northwestward at 15 km/h. The typhoon carries maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near its center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h, while the Southwest Monsoon is affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the western section of Visayas, bringing scattered rains.

The Southwest Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas. Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also with a risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in Extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough, with wave heights ranging from 1.2 to 3.1 meters, due to moderate to strong winds from the west to southwest. Residents and fisherfolk along La Union’s coastal municipalities: Agoo, Aringay, Caba, Bauang, San Fernando, San Juan, Bacnotan, Balaoan and Bangar are advised to exercise caution. For the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.5 meters and 0.6 to 2.1 meters respectively, under light to moderate south to southwest winds.

Extreme temperatures recorded as of 8:00pm last night, showed a maximum of 33.1 °C at 2:00 PM and a minimum of 25.6 °C at 2:00 AM. Relative humidity ranged from 94% at 2:00 AM to 55% at 11:00 AM.
