According to PAGASA in its weather bulletin issued at 4:00 AM on June 6, 2026, the Southwest Monsoon is bringing occasional rains to the Ilocos Region (including La Union), Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan, creating risks of flash floods and landslides.
The weather disturbance is influenced by Tropical Depression Ester, which was located 350 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes as of 3:00 AM today. The storm maintains maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour, moving east-northeastward at 15 kilometers per hour.
Due to the active monsoon, PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains may trigger sudden floods or landslides in vulnerable areas. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, and parts of Central Luzon and Calabarzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Coastal conditions remain hazardous for small vessels in northern territories. Northern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon are expected to experience moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest, causing moderate to rough seas with waves reaching up to 3.1 meters high.
The rest of the country will experience relatively calmer weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers. Yesterday, the PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City recorded a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius and a peak relative humidity of 92 percent.
