According to PAGASA, the southwest monsoon is still currently affecting Northern and Central Luzon, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to several regions on June 7, 2026. The weather system is expected to cause varying levels of rainfall across the northern half of the country, posing risks of localized flooding.
In La Union and the rest of the Ilocos Region, residents can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Local disaster risk reduction offices advise communities in low-lying and mountainous areas to remain alert for potential flash floods and landslides during heavy downpours.
Meanwhile, neighboring Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur are forecast to experience more frequent, occasional rains. Other areas affected by the cloudy skies and scattered rains include Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Batangas.
PAGASA also reported that coastal waters in Northern and Central Luzon will experience moderate conditions. Winds blowing from the southwest will reach moderate speeds, generating wave heights ranging from 1.2 to 2.1 meters, which may affect small sea vessels.
For the rest of the country, the weather bureau forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These conditions are caused by localized thunderstorms, which may also trigger sudden flash floods or landslides during severe weather activity.
