According to PAGASA in its regional forecast issued at 5:00 AM on June 10, 2026, the Southwest Monsoon is bringing cloudy skies, rainshowers, and thunderstorms across Northern Luzon. The weather system is causing light to moderate rains and moderate coastal conditions in the affected areas, prompting state meteorologists to advise local disaster risk reduction offices to monitor the situation closely for potential hazards like flash floods and landslides.
In La Union, residents can expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures in the province are projected to range between 25°C and 32°C, accompanied by moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest.
Coastal waters along the province will experience moderate to rough conditions, which may affect local maritime activities. PAGASA advises operators of small seacraft and coastal communities to remain vigilant as wind speeds remain moderate to strong.
While La Union experiences general monsoon rains, neighboring provinces in the Ilocos Region are under specific rainfall advisories. Light to moderate rains are currently affecting parts of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, and Cagayan.
The extended weather outlook for the region indicates that cloudy conditions and southwest winds will persist throughout the week. By Friday, wind speeds are expected to ease to light to moderate, resulting in slight to moderate coastal waters.
Local disaster risk reduction and management offices are actively monitoring mountain slopes for potential landslides, mudslides, and rockslides. Residents in low-lying areas are also cautioned against sudden flash floods during heavy downpours.
