According to PAGASA in its regional forecast issued at 5:00 AM on June 13, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to southwest wind flow. The state weather bureau warned that these weather conditions may bring light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions across the northern seaboards.

This regional weather pattern directly affects La Union and neighboring provinces in the Ilocos Region. Localized thunderstorms are expected to bring scattered rainshowers across various municipalities in La Union, prompting local disaster risk reduction offices to monitor low-lying and mountainous areas for potential flash floods or landslides.

In addition to the regional outlook, PAGASA issued Thunderstorm Advisory No. 8 for Batanes, warning of moderate to heavy rainshowers, lightning, and strong winds. The advisory specifically covers areas such as Basco, Ivana, Mahatao, Sabtang, and Uyugan, where residents along mountain slopes are advised to take precautionary measures against landslides and mudslides.

A thunderstorm watch was also raised for Ilocos Norte, indicating a high probability of thunderstorm development within 12 hours. Meanwhile, general temperatures in the region are expected to range between 25°C and 33°C throughout the day.

Winds will blow from the southwest to south at light to moderate speeds, keeping coastal waters generally safe with slight to moderate waves. However, PAGASA advises the public to remain vigilant and monitor official updates for sudden weather changes.
