According to PAGASA in its regional forecast issued at 5:00 PM on June 11, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms due to prevailing southwest windflows. The state weather bureau warned that these weather conditions could bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains, lightning, and strong winds across several provinces in the region.
In La Union, temperatures are expected to range between 26°C and 31°C with light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest. The extended five-day outlook for the province indicates a slight cooling trend, with temperatures dropping to a range of 24°C to 31°C by Monday. Coastal waters along the province’s shoreline will remain slight to moderate, though sudden localized thunderstorms may temporarily disturb sea conditions.
While La Union is currently spared from severe weather alerts, PAGASA issued active thunderstorm advisories for neighboring areas in the region. Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected to affect portions of Ilocos Norte, Abra, Apayao, Cagayan, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Isabela within the next few hours.
The weather bureau advised residents living near mountain slopes in the affected areas to take precautionary measures against potential hazards. These include possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods triggered by sudden heavy downpours.
